At
Champions, we want you to feel comfortable about the
processes we use for hair removal. The more you understand what your
experience with us will involve, the more likely you are to feel
great about the results! So we have outlined each step towards
looking your best.
The Initial Telephone Call
When you call, we will ask a few simple questions concerning the area
of unwanted hair, as well as the coarseness and color of the hair.
This will allow us to set up a free consultation for either
Electrolysis or Laser Hair Removal. Seeing you will provide us with
information needed to give you the results you desire.
The FREE Consultation
You will be asked to fill out a medical history, which allows the
consultant to help determine if there are any possible medical
reasons for the hair growth. (If there is a medical reason, we cannot
prevent new hair growth, only remove present growth.) We will show
you a short video, which explains how Laser or Electrolysis Hair
Removal works. The consultant will then explain the process and
answer any questions that you may have. You and the consultant will
then decide which treatment would best suit your needs, Electrolysis
or Laser. If Electrolysis is chosen, you will be scheduled with our
Electrologist. If Laser Hair Removal is chosen, then you will proceed
with a Spot Test.
The Spot Test
If Laser Hair Removal is the best choice, the next step will be a
spot test. The spot allows us to test your skins reaction to the
laser. Based on your skin type and hair color, we will adjust the
laser to ensure the best results. The spot test allows us to treat
the area as aggressively as possible without damaging the skin. Many
Laser Hair Removal clinics do not do a spot test and therefore under
treat the area. Under treatment will result in more treatments being
needed. We do a spot test before each of your laser treatments.
The Treatment
Our medical consultant will first review any medications you are
taking and any medical conditions that would prevent you from being a
candidate for Laser Treatment. The first treatment is scheduled from
24 hours up to one week after the spot test. The duration of each
treatment depends on the area being treated. Smaller areas take less
than 30 minutes and larger areas as long as 2 hours. Most people will
need from 4 to 6 treatments. Treatments usually range from 6 to 12
weeks apart.
After-Care
Your skin will feel as if you were experiencing a mild sunburn for a
few days. We will explain how to take care of your skin, which
includes exfoliating the dead hair out. After-care packages are
available.
